PAULINE MANCUSO
holds a Bachelor of Music degree in Music Theory
and a Bachelor of Music Education degree, cum laude, from Hartt College
of Music, University of Hartford, and a Master of Music degree in Music
Theory from Boston University School for the Arts. Her primary
flute study was with Stanley Aronson, and her main piano piano study with Herbert Chatzky and
Fredryk Wanger. Theory and composition study was with Arnold Franchetti,
John Goodman, Edward Miller, and Edward Diemente. Mrs. Mancuso is a member
of honor fraternities of Mu Phi Epsilon
and Pi Kappa Lambda as well as the National Flute Association, Ulster County
Music Educators Association, New York State School Music Association
(NYSSMA), and Music Educators National
Conference. She is a certified NYSSMA judge, hearing students in
woodwinds, piano, and voice, and is a certified Woodwind All-State
judge. She has maintained a private
studio in flute instruction since 1973 in Kingston, with students
from many of the surrounding communities as well; these students
have consistently achieved seats in All-County, Area All-State, and
All-State performing groups, and earned scores of distinction at NYSSMA Solo and Ensemble Festivals. She is also a
contributor to the NYSSMA Manual Flute Solo
section. An
active performer, Mrs. Mancuso is Co-founder and Managing Director
of the Cambiata Chamber Players, who have performed for many hundreds of
private events, and many recitals and concerts . A former teacher of music
and choral director in Kingston from 1973 to 2008, she is greatly
honored to hold the first-bestowed Lifetime Achievement Award given
to her by the Kingston High School Choir . PETER J. MANCUSO holds a Bachelor of Music Education degree, magna cum laude, from Hartt College of Music, University of Hartford and a Master of Music degree in Piano Performance from Boston University School for the Arts, where he was inducted into Pi Kappa Lambda professional music fraternity. He has studied piano with Daniel Pollack, Raymond Hanson, Fredryk Wanger, Edgar Roberts, and Vera Wills. Mr. Mancuso has been selected twice as a soloist in master classes of the International Bach Society, Rosalyn Tureck, director, held at Lincoln Center Library for the Performing Arts, Bruno Walter Auditorium. He has also done extensive professional accompanying under world-famous choral conductors. A life-long resident of Kingston, he is co-founder, with his wife Pauline, of Cambiata Chamber Players. Department chairperson and a teacher of voice and choral music at Saugerties Junior-Senior High School from 1972 to 2005, Mr. Mancuso has previously conducted the Junior High School All-County Chorus in 1978, 1981 and 2004. Mr. Mancuso is a member if UCMEA, NYSSMA (certified judge of piano), and MENC. |
