Flute Ensemble
Second 6-week session begins 3/19 - bring you flute, a
music stand, and be ready to have fun! YES - we will take more
enrollees - tell your friends!
Wouldn't you
LOVE to play in an ensemble of all flutes? I am starting a
Flute Ensemble this January at SUNY Ulster (UCCC) on Albany Ave. in
Kingston, NY. We will meet on
Mondays from 6:30 to 7:45 -
longer if we are having too much fun to stop! The music will
be trios, quartets, quintets, and flute choir music, drawn from the NYSSMA Manual,
mainly Level 4 and 5 - some 3, a few 6. After playing these works with us, you can take
back to your own school a good idea of what you would love to work
on for NYSSMA - or just for fun.
The
first 6 weeks will concentrate on music for all C flutes. The
second 6 weeks, we will
try to add piccolos, alto flute, and bass flute - depending on who
we have for players, and what we have for instruments. (No, we do
not have a double contrabass flute . . . . I wish!)
Registration is through UCCC.
Fee is $50. PLEASE register ASAP (before 3/4) to ensure that the
class WILL be offered!
Dates for the first 6 weeks:
1/23, 30; 2/6,13. No class 2/20. 2/27,3/5.
6:30 to 7:45 pm; if you
receive a printed catalog in the mail, it is
WRONG.
Second 6 weeks: 3/19, 26; 4/2,9,16,
23.
NYSSMA (Kingston) is 4/27&28.
